The Plough Hotel, Clanfield, is a perfect example of a 17th Century, stylish yet informal hotel in the Cotswolds countryside, near Burford (Gateway to the Cotswolds).
The Plough was bought by the present owners in July 2005.
It was stripped of it's many layers of 1970's chintz to unveil many original features including, stone mullion windows, fireplaces, stone and parquet floors, beams, paneling which have been carefully restored in keeping with the Cotswold tradition.
The new owners have brought in both antique and modern furniture which complement each other to create a hotel to relax in.
Many of the public areas have an eclectic collection of photographs including Scott of The Antarctic, Military, and 'Old Oxford'.
